Description

A lightweight WordPress plugin that automatically curates local Irish events and news into your site’s blog (or any public Custom Post Type). It fetches selected RSS feeds, filters them by your positive/negative keywords, and creates draft posts on a schedule (hourly → weekly). Ideal for “News & Tips” sections that need consistent, relevant updates without manual effort.

Capabilities

• Assigns a News & Tips category automatically when targeting standard Posts.

Options (Admin → Auto Local Events)

• Sources (RSS URLs): paste multiple feeds (one per line / comma / space).

• Schedule: Hourly / Every 6 Hours / Twice Daily / Daily / Weekly.

• Post Type: choose Posts or any public Custom Post Type.

• Featured Image: toggle to sideload and attach the image from the feed.

• Positive Keywords: one phrase per line (e.g., festival, grand opening, craft fair).

• Negative Keywords: one phrase per line (e.g., crime, obituary, politics).

Autonomy & Safety

• Runs on WP-Cron at your chosen interval.

• Reschedules itself when you change the frequency.

• Skips items failing keyword checks or matching negative terms.

• Avoids duplicates via stored source URL meta.

• Leaves all imports as drafts so you maintain editorial control.
